Russel crafts and leads digital strategies for the ministry on engaging with the public through social, web and content marketing, with the purpose of building trusted relationships through a history of helpfulness. With a customer-centric approach, he creates, leads and provides communications strategy for internal and external engagement, including social media customer service, and content creation to inform the public and help them find the information and answers they need.

Russel is a long running customer service and communication nerd with years of experience in government, service industry, retail and call centres. He found his purpose in communications after time in broadcasting and leading strategies for provincial and national organizations. Russel created the first social customer care team in the public service and is now an award-winning director in emergency communications, social customer care, content marketing and public engagement.
