Can You Look at Your Employees’ Facebook Pages?

Almost everyone is connected by social media, through Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. What does this mean, though, for employers? Are employers legally able to read through their employees' social media posts?

The anwers is, "maybe."

Many employees think their social media pages are protected under the First Amendment, but they are generally wrong in this thinking. This is because the First Amendment protects citizens against actions by the government; it does not protect employee from actions taken by their employers.
