Get QR Codes in Your Marketing Campaigns - Now!

Cory Bennett | 05/26/2011

Major companies need to start considering how to implement QR, or quick release, codes into their marketing initiatives, says Chad Summervill, who works with Mobile Marketing for Worldwide Corporate at Hewlett Packard. QR codes, resembling a square, pixilated barcode, are embedded in any type of advertisement. When scanned by a user with an app on their mobile phone, it can link them to a URL, or send them any type of information. While companies might not be seeing significant ROI right now with QR codes, they are rapidly being adopted in the U.S. Summervill, a featured speaker at the upcoming 2nd Annual Mobile Commerce Summit in Denver, spoke with CMIQ to discuss how companies can integrate QR codes into marketing efforts and avoid common pitfalls. He also gives his thoughts on how soon (it's soon) QR codes will be widely used by the majority of the U.S. population.

You can also check out CMIQ's feature article on the future of QR codes, and how major companies are currently using them to their advantage and disadvantage.
