Welcome back to A Day In The CX Life With CCW Digital, a series where we take a look into the people, technology, tools and trends that drive the customer contact industry. In this series we ask employees just like you to share how they spend their workday–from wake-up routines to meetings and what’s on their dinner plate for the evening.

In this daily log we meet tech marketer Veronica Saron, who over the course of her career has spent time ideating on everything from gaming to crypto, the metaverse and AI. A member of the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, Saron led the team that grew Pokémon GO into a global phenomenon. Since, the award-winning marketer has worked as a technology product marketing subject matter expert with brands like Google, Apple, Samsung, Nintendo, McDonald's, Verizon, Longchamp, Gucci, Northface, and 7-11. Today, she’s sharing what a Tuesday in product development and CX looks like for her.

Name: Veronica Saron

Occupation/Company: Head of Marketing and Go-to-Market advisor

Industry: Tech

Location: Mountain View, California

Daily Tasks: GTM strategy, managing marketing initiatives, customer and community outreach, team collaboration, reaching out to learn from strangers on the internet, and exploring innovative technologies

Professional Goals: Lead the teams that market the most innovative tech products of our time, and mentor and learn from the next generation of marketing leaders!

Personal Hobbies: Spending time with family, fitness (Muay Thai, dancing, long distance running), playing saxophone, and playing poker

TUESDAY

6 am: I usually wake up at 6 am after a solid six hour sleep. I start my day by taking vitamins, meditating, and mentally preparing for the challenges ahead. This time in the morning allows me to focus on my goals and energize myself for the day.

7 am: I get dressed and dive into a morning workout, which could be Muay Thai, dancing, or a long-distance run. Fitness is important to me because I want to be extremely energetic and live and be healthy for a loooong time! Starting your day with physical activity helps maintain energy levels throughout the day.

8 am: After my workout, I have breakfast (usually granola, berries, and coffee) and get ready for work. As a Go-to-Market leader at an AI search startup, I have a packed schedule filled with meetings, strategy sessions, and customer and community research. And I’m a huge extrovert, so nothing energizes me more than a packed schedule getting to work with and learn from others.

9 am: I review my calendar and prioritize tasks. I then (literally) reach out to three strangers on LinkedIn, Twitter, or email to engage in conversation and learn from their unique perspectives. They may be customers, second degree connections, or future friends with interesting online presences. This is a habit I picked up years ago and I’ve found it’s extremely valuable for learning from and connecting with new people! (It’s led to some awesome career opportunities, too).

10 am: I spend the next hour working on marketing plans and brainstorming with my team to come up with new ideas for campaigns. I also review and provide feedback on any creative materials in progress. I’m a feedback fiend–I love giving feedback and receiving feedback and iterating fast, whether on creative or on my career.

11 am: As the day progresses, I attend various meetings with my team and other leaders in the company. I get to work closely with everyone from engineering to operations to design leads and our founders. I want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to make for a great experience for both the team and our members who use our products!

12 pm: During lunch, if I’m not eating with someone else or with a large group of team members, I like to read articles with diverse perspectives. I’ll literally bookmark things that are down rabbit holes that I’d never go down unless I was looking for them. By exposing myself to differing opinions, I stay open-minded and develop a better understanding of various customer and cultural viewpoints.

1 pm: After lunch, I jump into our community channels to chat with customers to gather insights into their needs, ideas, and preferences. I use this information to inform our product and marketing strategies and ensure that our messaging resonates with our target audiences.

2 pm: I continue to work on marketing projects, writing creative briefs, and testing new AI tools to improve our strategies. I also make time to collaborate with members of my team in working sessions to fine-tune our plans and ensure alignment.

3 pm: In the midst of my work, I have to make sure to take a quick break to focus on energy management. Whether it's a walk with a team member or switching up the music I’m listening to, I find ways to recharge and maintain a high level of productivity.

4 pm: As the workday goes on, I respond to messages and emails, ensuring that I am up-to-date with all communications and providing prompt feedback to my team and colleagues. Around this time you may find me in another block of meetings or working sessions with my team.

5:30 pm: I usually take a break to recharge and refuel before diving into a second work block. Sometimes, if I haven’t worked out in the morning, this time can be dedicated to exercising and working out with other members of the team, since we have a hybrid working model. Otherwise, I use this evening time to catch up with my family and share a quick meal together, or grab dinner with industry friends.

7:30 pm: Feeling re-energized, I return to my desk and tackle a new set of tasks. This second work block is dedicated to diving deep into projects and knocking out work that requires intense focus and creativity or nitty gritty work. I might collaborate with global teams, draft marketing copy, or analyze data to optimize our marketing strategies.

8 pm: As the evening progresses, I maintain my energy and determination by taking short breaks and practicing efficient time management. I make sure to stay organized and prioritize tasks to maximize productivity. In the midst of my work, I take a moment to reflect on the progress I've made and recalibrate my focus. This helps me stay on track and maintain the intensity needed to power through the evening.

10:30 pm: With my work wrapped up for the night, I make sure to unwind and recharge before bed. I might do some light stretching or meditation to relax my mind and body, ensuring I'm ready to tackle another day. I may read a book (I try to read things that have nothing to do with marketing or tech or business, but I can’t help myself sometimes.)

11:30 pm: This is usually when I head to bed, hopefully satisfied with the day's accomplishments!
